Introduction
Mezzanine and mature franchise systems
have grown to the point where they must operate in more structured
organizational environments, directed by one or more levels of
professional managers. As the organization grows and becomes larger,
there is a greater need for shareholders and senior management
to monitor and control the managerial and operational aspects
of its business. Within a franchised organizational structure,
managerial and operational components include the franchisors
internal systems, those of its franchisees, as well as the interfacing
mechanisms between the franchisor and the franchisee. Additionally,
international expansion opportunities will become increasingly
attractive to mature franchise systems as they complete their
domestic franchise expansion initiatives.
Northern Lights works with Mezzanine
and Mature franchisors in four critical areas of their growth:
- Operating Systems Reviews: Focusing on the Franchisors internal managerial and operational practices.
- Franchisor/Franchisee Relations: Evaluating the nature and extent of franchisor/franchisee interaction, cooperation and coordination.
- Compliance Audit Programs: Relating to the systematic process of monitoring and controlling operational compliance by franchisees.
- International Transactions: Addressing the financial, operational and strategic considerations of international expansion.
